Young Gemynds International School

Who we are

Young Gemynds Primary School and Kindergarten (MZ008) accredited as Cambridge International School, owned by Mr. Anil Melwani and Mrs. Roshni Melwani has started operating in January 1998 with four teachers and eight students. The very first school was situated along Mao-TseTung Avenue, Maputo-Mozambique, in South East Africa.

It didn't take a long time for the school to establish its credibility to the public. The number of students kept on increasing and so there arose a need for bigger classrooms. Therefore, in June of 2001, the school was shifted to Ave. Vladimir Lenine #1915 Maputo, with more than hundred children, seven faculty members, and 3 support staff. Today we have strength of 32 full-fledged enthusiastic staff, well experienced, to cater to the ever-growing need of 300 children coming from different walks of life. Being known as a reputable and quality education giving school, and through publics’ request a new branch was opened in Beira, Mozambique in March 2001. To maintain its standard, three trained teachers and five support staff were placed to monitor more than 20 children. Still a plan of appointing more teachers was in line as the number of enrollees kept on increasing. Young Gemynds School, Beira now nurtures 105 students under the assistance of 7 trained teachers and 8 support staff.

Owing to the reputation of the main branch in Maputo, Vladimir Lenine, there came a sincere request from the residents of Xai - Xai to establish a branch of Young Gemynds, Maputo. After earnest efforts, Young Gemynds, Xai-Xai was established in January 2002. As the saying goes “history repeats itself” and so as the way the overwhelming request by Chimoio and Nampula residents to annex our par excellence service in these respective provinces. Nevertheless, its thrust of providing quality education has been relentlessly extended to other various parts of the country like Tete Branch 2010, Young Gemynds India 2012 and Young Gemynds Indonesia 2013.
The enrolment of student count kept on increasing which made us appoint more qualified teachers. Young Gemynds School, Beira now nurtures 105 students under the assistance of 7 trained teachers and 8 support staff.

With the untiring efforts of the Director Mr. Anil Melwani, Directress Mrs. Roshni Anil Melwani and member of the Board of Trustee Mr. Ravi Mahtani the school has been able to gain a firm footing in order to achieve the goals and objectives that the school strives for.
It is indeed a credit to the management, staff and well-wishers, with whose help and support the school has reached remarkable heights in a short span of 14 years.
